This was an amazing book. The subject matter is very difficult, but the book is written in a manner that is hard to put down.

Jordan is eleven years old and has been sexually abused for several years. Sarah is a young widow with two children, one of them, Danny, is a friend of Jordan's. Trough a chance encounter, Sarah comes across Jordan at an extremely difficult time in his life. As events spiral out of control Sarah decides to take Jordan under her care.

The story is told with each chapter being told by a different person, so the reader gets all views of the situations. Although the subject matter is very disturbing it is not graphic.

This is a story of love, trust,loss and the chance to go on living in the face of a horrible beginning.

In taking in the troubled neighbor's boy when the parents are jailed tears at the seams of Sarah's family and life. Haunting book.
