The 13 Clocks

A fairy tale in richly-wrought language, a great pleasure. Enjoy it, read it aloud, pass it on.
i got this from a fellow bookcrosser at one of our monthly meetings in san francisco. it's a typical tale about a prince who must rescue a captured maiden from a bad guy who is really, really icky. if you read it yourself you'll finish it in about an hour; if you want to read it to someone, it will take a few knights. er, nights. the writing is quirky, and its nuances might be lost on readers under the age of 8 or so.

Really a great story, great writing. Stories like this come along once in a lifetime. I was impressed by the authors ability to make up words which aren't really words, but you know what they would mean if they were words.
It is delicious!
