The Three Evangelists
7 journalers for this copy...
One of my favourite books. You'll either love Fred Vargas or hate her. This is a quirky, surreal little mystery involving an opera singer, her poverty stricken neighbours and a tree which suddenely appears in her garden.

I got this book from Gothenburg, but i couldn't journal it because there was something wrong with the ID-number. Now I made some experiment and succeeded. The second and third number had changed places.
Thank you for the book, Ally1665! it was nice meeting you in Gothenburg.
This book is the winner of the Duncan Lawrie International Dagger aka the CWA International Dagger 2006

This was a really good story. I enjoyed it a lot. The tree was quite an extraordinary item in this story. And the evangelists were not ordinary either.
Now someone is already waiting for the book. i have a couple more books by Fred Vargas. Now I must read them too.

Really, what a great whodunnit and whydunnit murder mystery! I enjoyed this a lot and I have to say that it's been a while since I've read a good detective story like this one. I liked the dialogues, also the setting was very interesting. Besides, those three evangelists are so heart touching that I would like to follow their life even after this story is closed.
I noticed, as so many times before, how good it was not to read the back cover before reading. That way I was thrilled even in the beginning of the story. I remember having read the back cover some time in the past but didn't remember so much about it now that I eventually started reading.

Absolutely wonderful, I loved this exciting story. A detective story that is unlike any I had previously read and I've read many. Fred Vargas is now one of my favorite writers and I'll look out for her books.

Taken from book buffet as I needed something easy(ish) to read on the plane. Funny to notice that it's already been to Finland before :D
** well, it was an okay read though not particularly "gripping and unsettling", as it claims on the cover. I think I prefer the author's more recent Adamsberg-mysteries (or at least the two that I've read so far)
