Description: What do a suburban mom and her troubled daughter, two recently divorced brothers, a pair of former child stars, born-again Christian newlyweds, and a couple of young millionaires have in common? They have all been selected to compete on Lost and Found, a daring new reality TV show. In teams of two, they will race across the globe--from Egypt to Japan, from Sweden to England--to battle for a million-dollar prize. They must decipher encrypted clues, recover mysterious artifacts, and outwit their opponents to stay in play. What starts as a lark turns deadly serious as the number of players is whittled down, temptations beckon, and the bonds between partners strain and unravel. Before long the question is not only who will capture the final prize, but at what cost.

MY COMMENTS: Oops! I did it again! I recently discovered I have several copies of this on my bookshelf. (When I read my other copy, I will come back here and journal my thoughts.)

FYI: I loved the author's first book, "The Dogs of Babel." I recommend the quite original story and very well written.
Happy Reading and Happy BookCrossing!

Thanks for the surprise book. I have looked at it at the Dollar Store but never bought it. I must have been meant to have it! And I also read Dogs of Babel years ago, so it will be nice to read something else by that author.

Finally got around to reading this story of a "reality" show and what the contestants thought while filming. It was an okay book, nothing to write home about, as they say. I am glad I finally read it though...it has been staring at me from the pile for along time.

At my work place this summer, one of those give-one-get-one, bird-house libraries popped up in the parking lot. I happened to grab this book, primarily because of the eye-catching cover. Sadly, it's taken me until just now to get around to reading it, for I'm currently in my last year of college, and things have never been busier. Anyway, I probably started this about a week ago, and just finished it tonight. I'm usually stuck inside a piece of literature written by someone who died at least 100 years before I was born, so an easy, "beach read" type of book was very welcomed.
I found myself (no pun intended) deisiring to continue reading at random times of the day. This book provides a nice balance of wit, sincerity, and unique-ness. I enjoyed that the reader was able to get into the minds of so many different characters, for it provided us to understand their perspective. Multiple times I found myself resonating strongly with a line of two from each character, so the relatability was well done. Character development over the novel could have been better, but I was overall satisfied with the progression of relationships. I have not read Parkhurst's The Dogs of Babel, but based off the other reviews, I may need to find myself a copy!
As a whole, I enjoyed this book. I don't think it will be considered a "favorite" of mine, but it's definitely appreciated for what it's worth.
