This is beautifully written; a heartbreaking story of loss and love seeping out of the horror of the Holocaust. It reads as a stream of consciousness, broken into chunks over time and place, through which I felt I'd lost my way at times. Athos, the saviour of the boy, Jakob, is such a rare and wonderful human being, his words guiding him (and us) to the best that he could be. The reading guide at the end is very useful, though some of the questions it raises are probably better for a reading group. One of the more difficult reads I've come across but enjoyed nonetheless.
Sent to the winner of the International RABCK sweepstakes. Congratulations
Thank you very much for the nice surprise!:)
