Beautifully written as usual. Anne Tyler just has such a gift to create characters and write stories that utterly draw you in that you can't really put the book down. Nothing much happens, ie it's not a thriller or a soppy love story but normal every day people going on about their lives and in a way you can recognise bits of you in every one of them. It draws you in, make you feel you know all these people as they may live across the road from you and you just want to know what happens next. Anne Tyler is one of my favourite authors indeed.

Caught at the Feb meet-up. Halfway through and really enjoying it.

I really enjoyed this. Anne Tyler has really got the formula right for writing stories that have really interesting, complex but believable characters and totally unpredictable but very satisfying endings. This was no exception. Will bring to the next meet up and encourage others to read it!
