Oh my goodness what a sad little book! I enjoyed the writing and development of characters and read this short story in no time. I've tried to read other books by the same author before and never got very far but this book has encouraged me to perhaps try again.

I've just finished reading this, and I think it is now my favorite Ian McEwan book.
