Someone randomly gave this to us in a train station. It sat on a shelf for a very long time, and then I read it after sorting books and putting it in the pile to get rid of.

I'd heard a variety of negative things about these books, but the only one that actually bothered me when I read it was that it's entirely about treating the extremity and stupidity of teenage crushes as the ultimate in romance. On the plus side, it's well written in some ways.
