Another is the Lonesome Dove Saga with the main characters in their early twenties. I really liked this one, true look at the west where the advancing white men are not the superior force. Knowing that Gus and Call survive to show up in Lonesome Dove takes some of the suspense out of it but it has enough twists and turns to keep you wondering "how will they get out of this?" Excellent surprise ending, lots of characters.
