This is my last dark, moody, twisted spy thriller for a while, I think, and it's a good note to finish on. This is a very skilful novel, integrating two narratives, the mother's and the duaghter's, seamlessly, with a fantastic sense of time. I think on the whole the WW2 part was more successful than the seventies part, but the latter certainly added a lot. Recommended.

Took me that long to get around to reading this book they had adapted it for TV!!!

I didn't realise until wayyy in to the book that I had seen this. When it came to the pencil scene things started to become familiar for me. Thankfully my memory isn't too good so my enjoyment of this novel was not impaired at all.

Thanks for sharing.

Read, release and pass on but don't forget to write a Journal Entry telling us where you found the book, if you read it what you thought about it and where you are going to leave it. If you join bookcrossing before you do the entry you will get an alert when the next person writes up about it and can track its travels. Releasing for the SNAP challenge and the What's in a Name challenge AND Never Judge a Book by its cover - Week 52

ETA 24/9/15 - caught by my friend's husband, who is staying at the apartment. He is really enjoying it and has taken it home to finish reading. My friend says she would like to read it next. Got to say it may not survive much longer after that as was starting to look a bit tatty. We'll see :)
