A great story of love, honour, family, and resentments within the petty life of an English town. Rich dialogue and believable characters, this was a satisfying tale start to finish. I love the cover art which is a Life magazine cover from 1924. Perfect!

OK - I cam home with WAY too many books. But, my books are organized now by when I got them.
What a wonderful story about interesting characters, England's colonial repercussions, small town life, what it means to be truly open to people from other cultures, and a love story of mature people and how their relatives and friends respond. Also about human nature. Very good book.

I picked this up at the last meetup, and it has caught my interest. I look forward to seeing this one at the top of my TBR Mountain Range.

Not quite what I was expecting - but a nice slice of life type of story. It had an interesting set of characters, and views into the complexities of different cultural backgrounds when it comes to relationship.

Had a lovely visit in rureading's yard to drop off books and pick up some new ones and bring some back. Lovely visit on a sunny but slightly cool day.
