Mars
2 journalers for this copy...
This is part of Ben Bova's Grand Tour series and the key listing can be found at the Privateers. It is also part of my collection on the human exploration of Mars. The key listings can be found at Red Mars.
August 2011:This is the first of the books that I have read.
I have really enjoyed this and although far from perfect it was a wonderful hard science story about the search for life on Mars during the first human mission ~2020. Focuses on the weaknesses, politics and desires of the individuals, but also a lot about the excitement of exploration.
I was not sure the disease profile and the way that it affected the astronauts was quite accurate. Seemed to severe and to precipitate too quickly.
Despite all this I look forward to joining the Return to Mars.
