Some time ago I read The Eyre Affair, which I didn't like as much as I had expected. In fact, I did not like it period, mostly because the fantasy / unrealistic part of the book got in the way very much.
From what I've read in the blurp, this new series is built the same way, although the characters are different. I don't think my taste will change very soon, so this book will not be read for a long time. I'm making it available as a ray.

I enjoyed jasper Fforbes the eyre affair but I found this book very very slow and a bit dull I had a feeling about how the story would end it was that predictable not going to give any spoilers I ended up and gave up on page 150 as nothing seems to be happening

I finished this last week. This was a fun read and I enjoyed it. I loved how the fairy tales are mixed together and the author still managed to weave in a solid mystery. It is tongue-in-cheek humour and is just the right book to slot in between more serious fare.
