I have enormously fond memories of this book. I first read it many years ago - and remember literally snorting with laughter and some of Harpo's anecdotes. Hopefully a new reader will find and enjoy this one as much as I did!

From amazon.com...
'To Marx Brothers fans who have yet to read this book: Put it off as long as you can, because once you are finished, you will wish you could read it again for the first time. Harpo's life was interesting in itself, but it also frequently intersected with the lives of other fascinating people, most notably his own brothers and drama critic Alexander Woolcott. Marx also was part of the legendary Algonquin Round Table; he's got plenty to say about that. Wait'll you hear about what it means to "throw a Gookie." You'll never be able to watch a Marx Brothers movie again without looking for the Gookie! '

I read this some time ago and forgot to journal it. It was a better read than I expected. Interesting to hear the story of how the MARX Brothers began, even though I am not a fan of their comedy. It certainly covered what was an interesting period in motion pictures in Hollywood. All in all an interesting read.

Harpo Marx
Born 23 November 1888, New York, New York, US
Died 28 September 1964, Los Angeles, California, US
This book is NOT about Harpo the movie star. It's about Harpo the human being and it is a compelling and very funny read.
