This book is a good read, possibly for women rather than men. It follows a well known formula of someone finding themselves through their own, and their ancestor's, past. This book sated my curiousity on Geisha women, having previously read the novel Geisha. It is set in the USA and is about a moderm woman. I suspect it is loosely based on the author's own experience.

A very strange book that I found difficult going at times - the author deliberately sets up expectations in the reader only to undermine them later in the book. I found the ending a bit predictable, too. But there were some interesting ideas.

Whoops. I have had this book for ages and can't remember how or where I got it.

Journal Entry 6 by Otakuu from Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand on Saturday, May 17, 2008
I found this book a difficult read in parts and then quite good in other parts. I cannot say that I feel satisfied that I have grasped the whole intent, even with the book finished in front of me.
