A much appreciated Christmas present from MrPloppy, which will be staying in my permanent collection.
As the Discworld series has progressed, the emphasis has shifted from pure humour to thoughtfulness, and this latest book is a perfect example of that - there's very little in it that's laugh out loud funny (although there's still plenty to raise a smile), but there's lots to think about, and a lot of very deep (excuse the pun) themes explored in a way that while lighthearted, is in no way trivialising. A lot of the book's musings on fundamentalism, for example, seem very apt given events in Roundworld in recent years.
Now I just need to search out Where's My Cow?...
