Journal Entry 1 by Lytteltonwitch from Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand on Wednesday, March 16, 2005
When Rebecca Sheldon married George Ludbury, she found herself at war with his grotesquely funny family as well as with the hypocrisy of the Edwardian society in which she lived.

Received from Lytteltonwitch at yesterday's meetup.

A woman marries into a weird and horrible family (though I'm not sure why - her husband seems almost as bad as the rest of them), and spends the rest of her life battling them. The blurb on the back of the book says she wins her war, but it seemed to me a pretty pathetic version of winning.
