This monster of a book follows Norma Jane Baker's whole story, since she was born until she became Marilyn Monroe. The big climax of the book is, obviously, what happened to her at the moment she died. Was it suicide, murdered? By whom?

I wish this would have left Baker out of this and go with an invented name, with references that copy Baker's life story, but Oates just over the shark so many times, that it becomes a piece of fiction
