The stack of books on the table was quite large and didn't seem to be diminishing. I decided to see what this one was about. Oh dear, it is historical fiction about the IWW and Spokane. I went to law school in Spokane and when I worked at the Attorney General's Office in Washington State I dealt with multiple cases involving loggers. In Bellingham Washington there was literally a shootout between the owners of the logging companies and the mills and their goons and the IWW that left dozens of people dead. I don't know for sure that the IWW was organizing loggers in Spokane, but I guess I am going to find out. For anyone wanting to know more about the Bellingham situation, I learned about it from the podcast The Dollop.
