This is not a sit-on-your-hands and read type book. It can take much time and thought processes to go through the exercises and get the intended result. It might be a better idea to read through the entire book the first, then do the exercises on the next read through. That way, your brain is not dealing with surprises with each new exercise, but is somewhat prepared. I liken it to a routine physical exercise program; building muscle memory and brain connections the first 1-2 times.
