The Watchmaker of Filigree Street is a sweeping, atmospheric narrative that takes the reader on an unexpected journey through Victorian London, Japan as its civil war crumbles long-standing traditions, and beyond. Blending historical events with dazzling flights of fancy, it opens doors to a strange and magical past.

I wish I had remembered to write this JE sooner after finishing the book. I recall there where aspects about the book that didn't land too well with me, but on the whole it was quite a fairy tale; imaginative and unpredictable (as should be!). Fascinating journey to a magical fantasy, tick-punk London of the late 1800:s!

I liked the idea of the book and I love the cover. The story itself is a bit lame and the disjointed writing style makes it difficult to understand sometimes. The story isn‘t developed properly so some twists come out of the blue without any hints before and make them unbelievable. Shame really, as this could be a lovely story with either a different author or a better editor…
