2007 Random House tale of a 19th Century Jewish Russian immigrant woman who comes to New York alone after her family is destroyed in a pogrom, who then sets out to find if her daughter is still alive, on an epic journey across the country and north to Alaska and Siberia. I found this copy today in the Hyacinth Little Free Library.

Edit April 29, 2024: This was good, but I just skimmed to end for time. I currently have this ranked at #854 on my ranked list of best-read books lately.
