Picked up at the thrift store this weekend. In my TBR pile.
Fantastic book. I truly mean that. I picked this up at the thrift store because it seemed to be a popular title. It sat in my TBR pile for quite awhile though. Not to long ago I watched the movie, and really liked it (Michelle Pfeifer was SO perfect as Ingrid!). The book lived up to it. A harrowing story of a young girl who ends up in the foster care system after her mother goes to jail for killing her ex-boyfriend.
It is now on it's way to ToXiCKiTTiKiSS, and I apologize for taking so long to get to it, but I think you'll agree it was well worth the wait!

Thanks so much for sending me this book. I did not mind the wait at all! Thanks again! :)
It was a really good book. I prefer the book to the movie, but I really like the movie too. I loved that a lot of the dialogue from the book is actually word for word in the movie. The only thing I did not like was the book ending. I liked the way they ended it in the movie. Although, the book itself was better since there was so many details of Astrid's life and more foster homes not included in the movie.
