When I donate something to a thrift store, I don't make release notes-- I go and make a new journal entry in which I state that I am donating the book to a thrift store and then I change the status to travelling. Everyo…

I'd like to offer James Baldwin's "The Fire Next Time" as a U.S. only ring. Please see details: http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/2822617

I don't use labels on my books when I am the one registering them for the first time, for precisely the reason that I don't want them getting torn off. When I do release to charity shops, they usually go to one of the t…

OK, that makes sense, now that I think about it. I suppose there's no reason BCrossing books cannot be part of geocaching. And, now that you've pointed it out, I suppose if there was a history at a certain wild release…

My opinion: sometimes I think the postal rules are so vague or written so unclearly that sometimes one worker will interpret something differently than another worker. Also, perhaps each post office manager has a certai…

I don't know if it's considered wild releasing when BCrossing users give books to charity shops, but when I do that, I only send stuff in really good condition, that would be sellable, because I used to work for the comp…

Good point about leaving BCrossing books on purpose in obvious places so people will see them. It's not like Easter eggs-- I guess if we wanted to leave stuff people had to hunt for, we'd be doing geocaching instead.

I made the subject that quote from "Mr. Mom," cuz I feel like I am doing something wrong with wild releases. Absolutely NONE of the books I've donated to charity shops with a BookCrossing ID have ever been entered into …

I finished reading "The Fire Next Time" by James Baldwin. I know I've been the recipient of at least 2 RABCK efforts, so I feel a bit obligated to offer this book up for the sake of offering it up. Money is really tigh…

I've had one more person agree to sign up; I am not sure yet where I am going to place her on the list, cuz I need to find out first if she has any preferences as to where on the list she goes. But I've got room for 5 m…
