The ending was so disappointing for me that I will never enjoy books I-VI the same way again :-( I wish I could read the series again without knowing how it eventually ended.

My vote also goes to the Dark Tower Series, especially The Gunslinger. And The Stand gets a close second. I do not really enjoy his other books all that much
