I'm sending out a book box of 20-30 books along with misc art, cards, etc. No romance books. Participants must have at least 100 books released and must be active bookcrossers. I have no desire to receive any books back …

Thank you so much. That was a really nice thing to say. Bookcrossers are such nice people :)

I sent several of my Pratchett books to Iraq in soldier care packages. I just couldn't afford to do any more. Anyway, thanks to everyone for the good wishes and kind words. I'm so stressed over this move. Only one month …

I ended up bidding on a couple of things myself. Now I'm sitting here hoping someone outbids me! *curses Ebay*

I usually avoid it, too. It seems to have the same sort of addictive properties as bookcrossing, only you end up buying things you don't even need because it's fun to bid.

Thanks. The other two books I'll give to bookcrossers with the bid are Jingo (hardback copy) and Witches Abroad (UK edition)...both sent to me by fellow bookcrossers. :)

Thanks. That makes me feel better :)

I know I don't need to apologize really, but I can't help but feel bad. Selling the books just seems to go against the bookcrossing spirit. Hopefully I'll be forgiven considering how many books I've given away already. I…

I don't usually sell my bookcrossing books, but I'm moving soon and am badly in need of money. I'm hoping that the lot of 10 Discworld books I have on sale at Ebay here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item…

I know that a lot of us have strong feelings about the war, but I also know a lot of people here are extremely generous and big-hearted so I figured it would be ok to post this here (for the record, I don't like the war …

If you get a moment, maybe you could write to her? It might help her to talk to someone who has been through something similar. She's such a nice woman. I wish there was more I could do to make her feel better.

A friend of mine is having a rough time. Her husband was diagnosed with cancer and they've been going through the whole chemo process. I'm going to post what she put in her journal today (it was public so it's ok). If yo…

I hadn't realized that people were still responding to this. I don't know much about brooke myself. As I said, this was taken from a friend's LJ and I promised to pass it on. I would pretty much stick to postcards for Br…

(This is taken directly from a friend's LJ): dear friends, one of my oldest and dearest, tina wiles, has sent this simple request to me this morning. tina, 33, has worked as a children's nurse (-most of them terminally …

I LOVE getting older. Each year I feel wiser and more myself...more comfortable in my own skin. As I age I care less and less what others think of me and more about what I think about myself. I can't wait to be a crazy o…

I'm opening a bookring for Joanne Harris's Blackberry Wine. This ring is US only and I'm trying to keep it relatively small. Please don't try and join if you're already on 50 bookrings...even if you're a fast reader, you…

If you mean the pages on the top, mine says we're on page 2242. Maybe it starts counting from when you start reading the forums?

Two books I've read recently and loved are A Year in Provence and Toujours Provence. They're both by Peter Mayle and they give a wonderful feel for the flavor and character of Provence.

The whole thing is so sweet. Wouldn't it be great if they ended up together?!

If you decide to read the book, you might want to avoid the unabridged version. It's pretty hard to get through. I think I read two dozen books between the time I started Les Mis and the time I finished it. It's a good r…

We got a bit sidetracked. As far as I know my co-worker isn't dyslexic...though it is a possibility. I wish to help her improve her writing/language/grammar skills so she can possibly take over my job and get better pay …

You asked about her age....she just turned 30 this week. She's very spunky and fun loving and sassy. That's why I said Chick Lit...it seemed like something that would appeal to her. I'm open to other suggestions though.

The email one sounds perfect. I'll have to look that one up. As for the first one you offered, I don't know anything about it so I don't know if it's something she'd like or not. I'd be happy to take it if you want to se…

It becomes more enjoyable because you are no longer beating yourself up thinking you must be stupid. You realize that your brain just handles things differently and you learn how to adapt so that comprehension becomes ea…
