I have just started reading it, probably half-way through the first chapter. It has certainly got me wondering as to how the mother died and by whose hand.

I don't think I ever manage to purchase just one book. Today in Waterstones I bought five books for the kids and three for myself. Oh well!

I think you are very lucky to have a store like that. Personally I think it is well worth the checks to get something like this. Many bookstores feel that they don't need to make any effort to get our custom.

I used to use Amazon too much, I do so much less now as I find their dispatch to be somewhat lacking. As anyone else had this problem - long delays on dispatch for items on 24hrs.

Our local Waterstones used to do author book signings. I managed to see Colin Dexter, Ruth Rendell and Keith Floyd.

Gosh, you lucky thing.
I saw him several years ago at BBC Gardners World live doing a book signing but he was well in the distance and the queue was massive.

It is worth supporting these shops to make sure that they remain.
I do use my Oxfam shop quite a lot. I find it still works out cheaper than the local bookstore and I can't always be bothered using amazon.

I can understand you being discouraged by books not being logged. Personally I am of the opinion that if you are prepared to take a book that has been left on wild release you should follow the thing through and log it …

I think your charity shop sells on books quite cheaply. My local Oxfam sell for £1.99 per paperpack and £2.99 for a hardback. Not complaining just thought your books were rather cheap to purchase.
