BookCrossing Photo of the Month

Reading is fun, but almost anyone will agree that pictures really can tell 1,000 (or more) words. We have received some beautiful photos from BookCrossers over the years - some in the act of releasing a book, some of confused newbies picking up their first book "in the wild" and even a BookCrossing tattoo (Yes, it's real; but we have temporary versions in the Supply Store.) While we are still working on the BookCrossing book, we thought we'd share a photo a month with you via the Newsletter. If your photo is chosen from our piles and piles of emails, you will receive a "thank you" of Members Plus (wings) for a month. As she told us, "In February of 2008, some friends of mine and I went trekking up the Mount Uritorco in Córdoba, Argentina (the highest peak of the Sierras Chicas chain). We’d been climbing for four hours until we finally reached the top - 1979 m. above sea level. There, we released a small book I was carrying in my backpack. It was an incredible experience: the view, the physical effort and the feeling of releasing a book in such a natural, beautiful environment. I’ve had no news from whomever took it, but I am still hoping someone will write a journal entry." (For a bigger image, click directly on the picture.)
