I was "made in Japan" and born in Pennsylvania,the happy union of an Army doctor and a Navy nurse. My parents bought a home in Northeastern Pennsylvania, began their family and established a family practice.They became settled but I never did. My Hungarian Grandmother always said that I had "the gypsy gene." I'm 53 years old and, as a child of the 60's, left the nest, traveled and adventured until I found the Florida Keys, where I stayed for 15 years to raise my own family. When they became independent, so did I. I began moving and adventuring and didn't stop.
I've always idolized my father; he was the most intellegent person I've ever known. He very rarely gave me a direct answer to a question; instead, he'd say "Look it up." We had thousands of books at our disposal when we were growing up and they became my friends, my mentors and my escape doors to freedom.
A Grandmother now, I've been back in Pennsylvania for 15 months, and have again found the time and space to "look it up." I stumbled onto this site this morning and it seems to be the answer to one of my unasked questions. Serendipity.
