Extended Profile
I like my books. I decorate with them, I use them in conversation, I identify my life with them. "Oh, I remember when I bought this book!" "Oh my, I have had this book since I was in high school." "I remember the first time I read this." With the books that I reread, I can chart my own growth through my changing reaction to them. Books are like living thigs. They evolve in my mind and in my memories. I don't understand what it feels like to not want to read. How can you see a book on a table and not pick it up? They are more tempting than chocolate.
I buy books the way some women buy shoes; they just look so pretty! I do not remember what it felt like to not be able to read. I feel that I have always been able to do it. I love the feeling of sinking into a good book.
I came across Book Crossing by chance in a Chi-town coffee shop (MoJo Joe's I think.) I just love the idea of sending my books on a trip.
Just so you know, if you get one of my books through trade or wild-release (anything but rings, rays, or other stuff like that) you can do what you want with. It would be great if you continued the book's journey, but if the path ends at your bookshelf, so be it. I just want my books to be loved. And I have made a resolution to be a better book crosser and be faster with rings and rays. I promise!
Love,
Jennifer
