It's generally considered good form (if you're actually asking for a book) to offer something on your own shelf in trade, or to offer to pay postage (especially if it's outside your own country), or something. By asking that way, many BCers often just send you the book(s) with no strings attached, appreciating that you've offered something in return.
My personal nitpick: Please make a journal entry on all books. It's often the only way I know you've received them. :-)

I'm not all that interesting, really.
The majority of my books are what my ex-boyfriend left behind some time ago or from the lost & found at work. They're good books and in good condition, I just don't have the desire to read them.
