Extended Profile
When I was a child, I got a box of bookplates as a birthday present. They were a silhouette of a boy sitting under a tree, eating an apple and reading a book. Castles, ships, dragons and more were formed in the branches and shadows of the tree. The caption
read "A book is a new adventure." It was a perfect gift and I still feel that way about books.
Back then I read mostly to escape and developed a lifelong interest in fantasy and science fiction. Today my interests are a little broader and I enjoy contemporary fiction, police procedurals(love Michael Connelly),history, social/anthropological/political/science stuff, poetry, spirituality and comic books(mostly Marvel titles...its a guilty pleasure).
My commute is rather long so I do a lot of reading on the T. But I usually carry a book with me when I'm out and about. If something unforeseen happens(late bus/ tow truck/blind date/whatever) at least I'll have something to do ;-)
