Extended Profile
The photograph is of Southwark Cathedral, where Shakespeare and his men played.
Having a great time. Wish I were here.
Jack Kornfield, Postcards from the Edge
We would rather be ruined than change
We would rather die in our dread
Than climb the cross of the Present
And let our illusions die.
W. H. Auden, Age of Anxiety

Solittletime -- The ring appears to have stuck here. As my PMs get no replies, I am going to start the ring again with a fresh copy.

Books in my permanent collection may be available on loan. Chances are better if a book needn't cross an ocean, but negotiation is often possible.
I've done origami for years: folded, created incidental things, taught folding . . .
The British Origami Society's site can be found here.
This link will lead you to Origami USA's site.
Origami.com is worth checking for the links alone.
Michael G. LaFosse is the most marvellous paper-folder I know. Origamido is his web site. There are photographs of some astonishing and beautiful folds. Michael has a gift for creating things that look as if they were alive.
Here -- because people keep asking -- are a few good chocolatiers and chocolate-dedicated sites:
The Chocolate Society's membership box is closer to being a hamper. UK-based, they will ship overseas, so distance is no obstacle. The founder's Chantal Coady, owner of Rococo Chocolates.
Rococo are the providers of Shadie's beloved dark chocolate with basil and Persian lime, amongst other things. Their chocolate bars and wafers are exquisite: some of the best-balanced infused chocolates you're likely to find.
l'Artisan du Chocolate are small and bent on staying so: no compromise here. The single-region bars are wonderful; the dark chocolate-covered liquid sea salt caramels are tiny glories, and the filled chocolates can be amazing. Heston Blumenthal (of the Fat Duck: a restaurant with three well-deserved Michelin stars) commissioned five flavours from them.
Pierre Marcolini won Patissiere of the Year more than once, and his background is apparent in the chocolates he creates. His signature piece is puff pastry and caramel enrobed in chocolate: stunning.
seventypercent.com is a site for the aficionado. Be careful; you can lose hours in here.
Bernachon: couverture chocolate -- glorious.
Valrhona is a name any chocolate lover should know.
Z Chocolat: an internet chocolate shop, recommended to me by the owner of l'Artisan du Chocolat.
Cocoa Planet: another internet chocolate shop.
B T McElrath: proof (if you need it) that there is glorious chocolate to be had in the US.
Oren's Daily Roast: because there have to be occasional detours from chocolate.
Flight tracking, because I fly too often not to be a bit obsessive.
A warm welcome to petronella345 and slgirl, who found books I had released, and then joined Book Crossing.
