I LOVE reading - when I'm not techno-geeking working working working! Our computers travel with us, along with a book for each couple of days. We leave books behind us everywhere and this vehicle
we just discovered is so exciting and perfect! We are getting into GeoCaching which is how I discovered THIS site and now I am sharing this opportunity with everyone I can! Enjoy, Read, and pass on! Alas, I just left a dozen books in Hong Kong UN-BookCrossed!
Darn!
In the Galapagos there is a "post office" where people leave a postcard addressed to someone. When a new visitor comes who lives near that addressee, they take that postcard and hand deliver it....making a connection. Such a great idea -- I was just wishing the other day that EVERYwhere had such a "post office". In a unique and even better way, BookCrossing fulfills that niche. The travelers among us can leave books all over the world and we can see, like e-mail, the path our words travel.
Hobbies include: travel, photography, snorkeling, animals, the sea and all its denizens, crochet, reading, computing, enjoying the moment, fireplaces, champagne, good wine and great food! I LOVE the animals, here, there and everywhere. I'm always learning; trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up but then I'd have to grow up! After THIS many decades, it seems unlikely to happen! I met my husband on the internet enough years ago to know it's working great!
Reading! I have ALWAYS been a reader! Now, I am obsessive about the order in which I read my series; I research and find the chronological publish order so I can progress through a series! I buy my books online and usually already used. By the time I get the books, they already have a history! When you read one of "my" books, you will find them in various conditions - I tend to buy from the folk trying to get their storefront started! So, though I don't know what it is, my BookFriends already have a history. Those are not MY marks in the books, I got them that way!
Anytime you want some more info on a "series" I'm releasing, please drop me a line. I also have a Word document logging in the authors and their books (in correct chron order of course!!!) that I LIKE, Don't Like, and Want To Try! I'm constantly updating this list. Right now I'm totally immersed in "Cozy" mysteries so my "bookshelf" is quite "mono-themed".... I also am a Science Fiction addict and am beginning to release what is left of my still-large SF collection. (In fact, I just found another whole box to be unpacked, full of great SF treasures!
