i'm a 40-something woman with an insatiable desire to aquire and read books of all kinds.
i am currently on a journey through my bachelor's degree for art at a women's college in pennsylvania. i'm so into books i can't part with my old textbooks!!! now, that's obsession, don't you think?
found this and thought there is no better way to get rid of my novels and other books i've read for pleasure than to pass them on hoping someone is just as touched by the story as myself.
i often go to a local auction and purchase books at bargain prices. Like just this weekend, i got a $50 cookbook (Charlie Trotter's Vegetables) for $4.00! and a whole bunch of others as well, for only a total of $9.00. can't beat that! and all in fine shape!
i enjoy good fiction, cookbooks, art books--either history or hands on, some biographies, humor, birding books and puzzles.
i heard about this on NPR just before going to the auction this past weekend---was in the car in the parking lot just before my big purchases! this is the greatest site and a wonderful idea!
good thing there aren't any calories in the pages of books...i'd be the size of mt. kilimanjaro!!!
