Extended Profile
Im an instructor at our state univerisity, in the island known to be the last "frontier" (i prefer "refuge") of my country. I'd like to think i grew up swimming with sea turtles, fishes, manta rays, dolphins, sharks and such but there has been occasion that it actually happened. I've strong affinity with water and swims regulary every weekend, my only legacy to my son of which my parents also gave me in a smaller dose.
At other times im a formator, this is the term used for educators in the seminary where i teach philippine history, anthropology and sociology part time. I'm still fumbling with the term trying to live up to some semblance of congruity within the limits of my becoming.
I've love reading since childhood and would love to have more time to read and have conversation with people about it. Where i am it is not a right but a privilege to be able to read and to have access to reading materials. My house is full of books which i share with my students and friends...i still haven't found time to register them (please bear with me)...i teach a minimum of 300 students in a semester (regular load) between checking essays and papers i barely have time to breathe.
Im also a solo parent of one and surrogate parent and sister of many students...
It seems life is full though my cup is still not yet overflowing...i teach natural science and human geography at the state university but i have always, always have passion for social sciences...i read feminist books, sociology and philosophy regulary and anything i can get my hands on.
Im a great fan of Tolkien and Rowling, Kingsolver, Oscar Wilde, Jeffrey Archer, MZBradley...and it was so good to find bookcrossings because it's like a giant radio station where different kinds of music are played, encompassing different genres.
So to all of those who are part of this, thank you, maraming salamat...when shared, reading cease to become a solitary passion, enhances life and opens another avenue for surprising dialectics.

Carpe Diem!
