Extended Profile
I was active on bookcrossing from 2004 - 2006 and then came back to bookcrossing in 2011 after an extended break in which I studied for a Masters among other things. Since then I've been active on and off but I always like to know where my books have ended
up!
I live in Millport on the beautiful Isle of Cumbrae, off the west coast of Scotland. I'm a keen cyclist and living in a popular tourist destination means that I tend to wild release between April and September - plenty of visitors to catch them - and often combine this with a cycling trip.
I go through ups and downs with reading. My books are mainly sourced in our local charity shops - I like general fiction, crime and mysteries, YA fiction (I teach in a secondary school!) as well as books set in unusual places, and I’m not averse to a bit of non fiction, particularly history, politics, biographies and psychology. I don't particularly enjoy romances or sci-fi and my shelves occasionally reflect books I've been given to bookcross rather than books I've chosen to read.
