I first heard of Bookcrossing several years ago when I read about it in Rita Golden Gelman's wonderful book "Tales of a Female Nomad".

I have always been a reader, and despite having been involved in Bookcrossing for some years now, I still have trouble letting go of books.
I am a habitual collector - my biggest passion being for inkwells. In 2005 I went to the US for the Society of Inkwell Collectors' convention in Williamsburg, Virginia.
After more than 20 years of collecting without ever meeting another inkwell collector, I spent 4 days with 90 of them and it was amazing!

My bookshelf reflects bookrings I have been involved in, books I have picked up at meetups, and books from my collection that I have felt able to part with. I love to read classics, travel narratives, some crime, literary novels especially if they are set in Asia, and pretty much anything else that crosses my path.

In July 2007 I moved from Western Australia to live and work in Beijing, China. Books in English are available but not in great variety, so there is a thriving swap culture here amongst expats. I have made several releases to the adult 'swap shelves' in the library at the international school where I'm working, and it is exciting when new members result!

As of July 2012 I am back living in Perth, Australia after 5 wonderful years in Beijing. The Beijing Bookworm Literary Festival was a highlight of my annual calendar - the best book festival I have attended anywhere!
