Extended Profile
I am a 18-year-old sophomore at the University of Washington and I found out about this website after glimpsing a book with a bookcrossing post-it on the cover in a friend's room. I think the concept of making the whole world a library is brilliant, and
I love the community sense it has. Most of the books on my bookshelf are dear to me because I usually get my books from the library, but if they can persuade someone else to read who usually doesn't then that is a much better use of their time instead of idling
on the real bookshelf at home.
I love the ocean and tennis is something close to an addiction for me. Summer is the time that I catch up on my reading, and I usually enjoy books that I can escape into, that take me to another time and place, with situations completely different from my own.
Some of my favorites are: I Capture the Castle, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Gone With the Wind, To Kill a Mockingbird, Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter 1-5, and Watership Down. I read mostly mainstream, critically-acclaimed fiction because I usually find out about them through reviews in newspapers and magazines. But I do occasionally enjoy a well-written nonfiction or cooking book.
I am currently reading The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd.
