Extended Profile
As difficult as it is for me to part with my treasured tomes, I love this idea and look forward to my friends finding more friends in their travels (and to freeing up some bookshelf/nightstand space!), also to finding new "old favorites" by capturing new titles.*
The first book I remember making a huge impression on me was a biography of Mozart that I checked out of my elementary school library time after time, much to the amazement or amusement of our librarian, Mrs. McKinney. These days, I read just about anything -- fiction, non-fiction, paranormal, metaphysical, adventure, mystery, fantasy, horror... you name it.
My love of literature led me to an English major and History minor from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA. Not a very "useful" major, but the only one I could imagine. Now I work for the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Human Resource Consultant and enjoy discussing recent reads with my sister, my niece, and my nephew, who turned me on to Lemony Snicket. :)
*note: so far, I haven't been able to part with any truly great "friends," but am merely passing on minor acquaintances... someday I'll be brave enough to try the book ring/ray thing and send my true friends on journeys that bring them back home, full of new energy. :)

The pic is my dog, Jesse, enjoying a "sundae" at her Sweet 16 birthday party in July, 2004. Although she's no longer with me in body, she'll always be with me in spirit. :)
