Well....let's see. A few words about myself? A mom, and it's Mother's Day; the kids were terrifically sweet this morning, and the husband too....yes, we love books, or at least the kids and I do; hubby is less of a reader and more of the visual-arts kind
of guy (in a television kind of way). House is stocked with several full bookcases. Would like to have more but find that the size of the house won't permit endless book-buying; besides, a smaller home and less shelf-space for books keeps you honest, makes
you really think about what's important to keep.
The idea of giving up books to the "wild" really strikes a cord within me: that, YES, it is good and proper to "release" a book, because books, and knowledge, are meant to be shared, not hoarded (ha! sound familiar, bibliophiles?...we find it hard to part with a good book even if it hasn't been read in years, don't we?.....).
All right, then. Here's me.
Mom to 3 kids. Wife. Have recently discovered the joys of gardening. Weight Watchers lifetime member. Bibliophile. Ex-English major, ex-Art major, never finished any degree anyway; currently work at an antique store among very beautiful old things. Surprised to have become a Christian recently. Going to New York in, oh, 9 days to visit best friends.
