I'm an avid reader of GOOD science fiction but don't care for the fantasy stuff. Grew up reading Asimov, Bradbury, Heinlein, Pohl. Later came to love James P. Hogan, Arthur C. Clarke, Charles Sheffield, Larry Niven's earlier works before he got off into more of the fantasy stuff. I have also enjoyed John Varley's wonderful trilogy: Demon, Titan & Wizard. As a teen, I read ALL the Zane Grey, Erle Stanley Gardner, Raymond Chandler stuff, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Alexandre Dumas, Charles Dickens. In elementary school, I used to help the librarian select new books for the library from the traveling BookMobile. Now I enjoy reading thrillers of all kinds: David Baldacci, Bill Bass/Jon Jefferson (as Jefferson Bass), Steve Berry, Dale Brown, Lee Child, Lincoln Child, Tom Clancy, Michael Connelly, Pat Conroy, Clive Cussler, Jeffrey Deaver, Nelson DeMille, Jack DuBrul, Janet Evanovich (a real hoot!), Stephen Frey, John Grisham, James W. Hall, Carl Hiaasen (another real hoot), Greg Iles, Glen Kleier, Paul Levine, David Lindsey, Steve Martini, Brad Meltzer, Marlys Millhiser, Kyle Mills, David Morrell, Douglas Preston, Kathy Reichs, James Rollins, Brad Thor, Joseph Wambaugh & Stuart Woods. I've been employed in various capacities in federal and state law enforcement agencies for over 44 years now.
