Extended Profile
The picture above is of my Mount TBR in February 2005, and I have to confess there are still some books in there that I have not read yet. My list of books to be read is a lot shorter these days though.
I have been an avid reader all my life, and currently enjoy having more time to read again.
Most books registered here are available for trade within Australia (sorry to the rest of the world, but postage costs from Australia to anywhere else is horrendously high). Some of my books I will never part with, because I want to re-read them on a regular basis. They have been marked as Private collection. I have only registered a small part of those books though.
I read just about anything as long as it is in English, German, French or Dutch. My main interests are in literature, history, philosophy, and I also enjoy a good thriller or science fiction book. In the last couple of years I have been trying to keep up to my sons with what they are reading and have enjoyed some really good books.
I have immersed myself in the list of ‘1001 books to read before you die’. To date I have read 343. There are now new editions of this book and of the combined lists I have read 383 books.
