Extended Profile
My name is Debby and I'm a biblioholic. (The first step is admitting you have a problem) I have more bookshelves than pairs of jeans....and all I wear are jeans!
How have I collected these books? Well, I had the misfortune to work for Borders Bookstores. (Dayton, OH) It wasn't a bad place to work but I only brought home a grand total of $100 for a whole month's worth of full time work. I moved to Shaker Heights, OH and lived within walking distance of a bookstore called Half Price Books. Typical remainder stuff in the front...but the back had a wonderful close-out section. Books ranged from .20 to $1. It should have been a clue that it was going to be a problem when I decided to drive so I could buy more books and not have to carry them home. Shaker Heights also had amazing library book sales twice a year. When I moved to Chicago my collecting slowed. I have become more focused and actually disposed of 16 boxes of them via Goodwill.
I'm now in FL and looking forward to owning a Kindle and further downsizing my personal collection.
