I am a 62 year old female of African-American descent, retired two 1/2 years, so I am catching up on all my reading. In my younger days, I used to read blood, guts and horror (stephen King, Dean Koontz). Then I moved on to murder, suspense, and forieng intrigue (John Sanford's Prey series. Richard Patterson's Alex Cross books.) Now I landed in the romance and romantic suspense category, and am fully entrenched there. My favorite authors in this category are Catherine Coulter, Sandra Brown, Linda Howard, Tami Hoag, Elizabeth Lowell, and my new favorite author,Susan Wiggs. I love to listen to books on audiotape, especially when I cooking, cleaning or otherwise involved. When I read a good book, I like to share it with someone else, so BookCrossings is a perfect vehicle for me.

I belong to the Audio Book Club, Books on Tape, Mystery Book Club, and Rhapsody Book Club. I have to be carefull, though, because I have purchased the same book from different sources. I guess listening to audiobooks is a carryover from my childhood when we didn't have television. We used to listen to stories on the radio.
