Have always enjoyed reading and was thrilled to discover this group of people who also love reading. I am compulsive about reading the New Yorker, a weekly magazine, which takes a lot of my time. Now I feel conflicted because I want to read more books but I don't want to stop reading newspapers and magazines. I am a member of a book discussion group at my local library.

I am the daughter of a book collector and much as I loved all of his books, it concerns me that books have taken over his home. He can't move or find room for his other possessions because of all of his books. The thought of passing books on after reading them appeals to me. I've always thought of books as being like friends.

I also love films, music and theatre. In fact, I have done a better job with seeing movies than reading books lately. I view bookcrossing as a clever idea and an opportunity to meet others who like to exercise their brains.
