A bit about me...
I grew up in a small town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and went to Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. For my junior year I decided to study abroad at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England...and thus my love of all things Travel was born (more on that later...). I currently live in Southern Maryland with my computer geek, who I love very much!
Among the many roles I play in life, I am also a part-time Master's student at the University of Maryland, at College Park. I am working toward a Master's in American Studies -- a true passion of mine. The only downside to this pursuit is that I don't have enough to read.
Growing up, I was encouraged to read at every turn and my parents, especially my Dad, are constant readers. I've loved books my whole life - I remember always going to the great used books stores around Bethesda with my Dad every time we went to visit my grandparents. My reward for tagging along - one book, any book, of my choice. I have taken this with me through life and usually cannot enter a bookstore without buying a book even though my "To Be Read" shelf has grown tremendously!
As I said before another passion of mine is traveling. I love everything about it - Travel Writing, the planning, being the tourist, the discoveries, the great pictures, the memories, trying to write them all down. As soon as I get back from one trip I am figuring out where our next journey will be (my computer geek is incredibly supportive and indulges all my traveling urges!).
This passion for Travel is what intrigues me about BookCrossing. Sending a book out into the wild and seeing where it will end up (if at all) is an amazing way to feed my love for traveling. I wish these books could send me postcards from their travels! I wish they could tell me all about the places they've seen and their stories from the road!

The book I am currently reading -- A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole.
