...when i picked my very first email address back in '98, i wanted it to reflect who i am. i was chagrined to discover that "betsytacytib" was taken, so i deliberately misspelled betsey and betseytacytib was born! that series of books by maud hart lovelace has shaped my entire life. i, of course, imagine myself to be betsy (with tacy's hair, of course).

has anyone else read the dictionary for fun? as a small child???? i did. all of my friends were in their 80's and my favorite activity was walking to our tiny town library to check out books, ten at a time. many times i would have at least two of them read by the time i got home, having stopped at the playground to sit on a swing and read.

the most books i read was 65 one year while i was pregnant awaiting the birth of my daughter courtney. i was a member of the Ladies Literary Circle and you were supposed to report your totals at the end of the year. i thought i had the most read of all the group until it was announced that someone else had read 69 ! argh. so now i just read to please myself. usually two going at any one time. (one per powder room!) lol

i married a man who proudly announces he has only read one book in his lifetime! (The Raft) everyone predicted that two people with so little in common "would never last". we just celebrated our 35th anniversary so to all those who doubted us i say "pooh to you!" lol we've had four children and i still love him to pieces, mostly because he allows me to be myself, and he makes me laugh. (a most valuable asset!)

since i discovered diaryland.com i've become as voracious a writer as i once was a reader. you can find me there as betseytacy.diaryland.com (you don't have to type in the www.)

so this is one cool idea here at bookcrossing! i can't wait to go to the mall!
