Extended Profile
I'm a voracious reader of just about everything. My reading motto is that there's something good about every book. Even if it's a Harlequin romance, I can find a few turns of phrase or an image or something that I'm just glad I read.
I don't like non-fiction. I'm not fond of "Oprah books" slash "chick lit" slash melodramatic slop. Strangely, the stuff I used to write was pretty melodramatic, so maybe I should finish that novel, go on Oprah and get rich rich rich!
I love young adult fantasy (Lloyd Alexander, Phillip Pullman, Harry Potter, Narnia, the extended Oz books etc.), Diana Gabaldon, John Irving, Anne of Green Gables, Tom Robbins, Sarah Waters... I can't think of everything now but I have 5 large book cases at home filled!! The books I've read lots of times? My Side of the Mountain, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (also Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone, the British version) and Gone with the Wind.
