A picture of one of the most beautiful flowers. The ghost orchid is an endangered species.
There are only 700 Mountain Gorillas left on planet earth. Unfortunately, humans are directly responsible for these great apes being pushed to the Critically Endangered level. What is worrisome is that as of recent, several magnificent gorillas were murdered and dumped like bits of nothing, and it is believed that the senseless slaughter of the Mountain Gorilla will continue to increase. If something is not done, we will live to see the extinction of the gorillas in our lifetime (10 - 20 years at best).
NOTE: Senkwekwe was the silverback of the Rugendo family, half of which were murdered on July 22, 2007, at around 7:30pm. Rest in peace my friends, you are safe now.

O.K. so, I currently live in Miami, FL (USA), but I am originally from Trinidad & Tobago......*sigh*...I'm 28 y/a, but during summer, I'm approximately 15 3/4, lol.
I have 3 dogs (Bear, Lucky, Micah) and 6 cats (Indiana, Kitty, Dutches, Huey, Luey, Dewey) .....all rescued strays. Yes, I did name the three last kittens after Donald Duck’s three duckling nephews in the Disney cartoons. They're divided up between my mum's house, sister's house, and boyfriend's apartment.

If tears could build a stairway
And memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven
And bring you home again...

I love books, as everyone knows, so every year, I attend the Miami International Book Fair. I LOOOOVEE going to this thing, because there are so many great authors you can meet, and also because Stephen King’s rock band “The Rock Bottom Remainders” play there. They’re really great! I have to say that the greatest person I ever met there was Malika Oufkir, author of Stolen Lives: Twenty Years In A Desert Jail. She’s such a small quiet person, and looking at her, you’d never know she was the princess of Morocco, and had such a horrible life. After reading the novel the year before, I said to myself “I’d give anything to meet her, shake her hand, have her sign my book, take a picture with her, and tell her that she’s my hero.” That next November, I did just that. The best part, was telling her how she looked in my eyes, and I almost teared up when saying it.
On 11/14/04, I had the opportunity to meet Nigella Lawson (author of How To Be A Domestic Goddess), the wonderful cook on the Style network. She is so freakin’ awesome. I got to take a picture with her, and have her sign my cookbook. That woman really is a Domestic Goddess!!
And of course, I met the greatest southern belle herself, Mrs. Paula Deen! Let me hear a loud "Hey Y'all."
